My Story
A Purpose-Driven Path
I'm Tracie Hillyard, and my professional journey has always been guided by a single purpose: helping people thrive. For over 18 years, I worked as an educator, where I saw firsthand the challenges students face as they navigate their formative and adolescent years. It was one of the experiences that inspired me to become a counselor. I obtained my master's degree in counseling from the University of Houston - Victoria in 2017. I've lived in Katy since 2003 and have worked in Katy ISD since 2004.
Beyond Bouncing Back
I believe that true resilience is not just about overcoming hardship—it's about learning to grow stronger because of it. My goal is to empower you to see challenges not as roadblocks, but as opportunities for change and self-discovery.
My Approach to Counseling
My practice is built on a foundation of trust, empathy, and personalized care. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified School Counselor, I provide a safe, neutral space for you to share your concerns. Every treatment plan I create is designed specifically for you.
Helping Individuals Build on Their Unique Strengths
I specialize in several evidence-based therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. By combining these approaches, I can help you build on your unique strengths and develop practical skills to manage a wide range of issues. I provide all sessions face-to-face in my office and offer telehealth as an alternative.
Take the Next Step
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you're hoping to achieve. This is a great, low-pressure way for us to decide if I am a good fit for you and me.
